Welcome to Munich

Famous for its annual Oktoberfest, the capital of Bavaria also has a long cultured past that acts as a natural foil to the city’s gregarious beer halls and gardens.

About Munich:

The image of Munich that most likely springs to mind is one of men in lederhosen and dirndl clad women drinking from oversized steins of beer at the Oktoberfest. But Munich is a cultured and affluent city, home to numerous museums and art galleries. The Nymphenburg Palace, its grounds laid out to a geometric perfection and the former summer residence of the Kings of Bavaria, is just 10 minutes by tram from the city centre. The Marienplatz and its famous Glockenspiel clock are at the heart of the city's downtown shopping district and close by is the famous Viktualienmarkt - a food market with bars and cafes. In recent years, Munich has also become an increasingly influential creative hub and is now one of the most desirable cities in Germany to live in.
