About Fuerteventura:

Fuerteventura is 100 kilometres long and 31 kilometres wide. The summer trade winds and winter seas of the Atlantic make this a year-round destination for surfers with the more exposed areas on the northern and western coasts most popular. Wind surfing is also a favourite activity for many visitors. The island's interior combines large plains, lava outcrops and volcanic mountains and the excellent hiking offers challenges for all levels of fitness. An island of contrasts with something for everyone.

Museo del Queso Majorero Museum

This new museum is one of the island's best with lots of interactive displays with information on the island's flora and fauna. You can also climb to the top of the restored windmill.

Parque Natural de Corralejo Scenic

This reserve stretches along the east coast for about 10km from Corralejo and its beaches are popular with windsurfers and kiteboarders. The area is also known as Grandes Playas and is free to enter.

Casa de los Coroneles Art Exhibition

This 18th-century mansion houses exhibits of modern art on the ground floor with a brief history of the building on the upper floor.

Museo de la Pesca Tradicional Scenic

Located in El Cotillo, the museum is located next to the town’s distinctive lighthouse. You can climb to the top of the smaller original lighthouse for panoramic sea views and then visit the various galleries and exhibits which detail the history of the local fishing industry.
