Things to do here

The beauty of Lanzarote is that it really has something for everyone. Tired of sitting by the pool? Why not visit La Graciosa, a small island off the north tip of Lanzarote with no roads, just great sandy beaches and some restaurants by the sea. The small island is also ideal for cycling and hiking. Alternatively, you could visit the little town of Teguise, which was the original capital of Lanzarote, with its preserved colonial mansions and cobbled streets offering a glimpse of a more sedate past.

Museo Internacional de Arte Contemporáneo Museum

Located in Arrecife,  the Castillo de San José was built in the 18th century to guard against pirates. Today it houses one of the most important collections of modern art in the Canaries with works by artists such as Miró and Rivera on show. Address: Carretera de Puerto Naos.

Jameos del Agua Tour

Jameos del Agua is located in Malpais de La Corona in the north of the island. A ‘jameo’ is a volcanic formation formed when the ceiling of an underground lava tunnel collapses, exposing a section of the tunnel to the sky. A bar, restaurant, swimming pool, and concert hall were all built within one such formation near the coast under the guidance of César Manrique in the 1960s.

Caleta de Famara Outdoor Fun

Caleta de Famara is a famous surfing destination. The small village is located on the north-east of the island with surf-shops and kite-surf rentals available.
