A new promotional campaign for Ireland’s Ancient East has begun at key points of entry to the country including Dublin, Cork, and Waterford airports, Rosslare Europort and the Port of Cork. The focus of the campaign is to heighten awareness of the Ireland’s Ancient East brand with both international and domestic visitors.

The campaign was launched today at Cork Airport with representatives from both Fáilte Ireland and Cork Airport.

Speaking about the campaign, Jenny de Saulles Head of Ireland’s Ancient East said, “This campaign gives us the opportunity to promote our brand not only in a very cost effective way but also with great impact. In each location we have been able to develop an innovative way of telling the story of Ireland’s Ancient East and we hope that this promotional activity will create a sense of place that will resonate with visitors and inspire them to visit.”

Niall MacCarthy, Managing Director of Cork Airport said, “Cork Airport, as the principle gateway to the South of Ireland, is delighted to partner with Fáilte Ireland to showcase Ireland’s Ancient East and to tell it’s story to incoming visitors to our region. With an 8% increase in passenger numbers through Cork Airport this year, an additional 81,000 inbound visitors will experience this unique installation.”

Ireland’s Ancient East is geared to maximise the history and heritage in East and South of Ireland and bring it to greater international attention. To do this, the new initiative offers visitors a personal experience of 5000 years of history through a relaxing journey of discovery in the beautiful landscape that attracted warring settlers for millennia and illuminated by stories from the best storytellers in the world – the local people.
