Busy August Bank Holiday Weekend At Cork Airport

Aug 01, 2017

Cork Airport will have one of its busiest weekends this August Bank Holiday with 40,000 passengers expected to travel through the airport.

Over 40,000 passengers are expected to travel through Cork Airport this August Bank Holiday weekend. They will be able to sample the best of local cuisine from the recently opened Craft Lane Bistro, Food Republic food court, AMT and Kinsale Café Bar outlets before they depart from Cork Airport.

Cork Airport is the international gateway to the South of Ireland and is uniquely positioned at the start of the Wild Atlantic Way and Ireland’s Ancient East.  It is the country’s second largest and best connected international airport with more choice of routes than any other airport outside of Dublin.

More than 2.3 million passengers will travel through Cork Airport this year flying to destinations across the UK and continental Europe, and to destinations across the US directly with Norwegian or via Reykjavik with WOW air.

Cork Airport’s customer service as voted by passengers has won multiple national and international awards. In June 2017, Cork Airport was named Airport Council International (ACI) Best Airport in Europe (serving under 5 million passengers).
